Trying to find the perfect vaulting horse, a horse that will stay sound and fit under the stresses of vaulting competitions? The AVA Education Committee is providing you with a terrific opportunity to learn more about finding the horse you need. Dr. Marvin Beeman, DVM will present a 2 1/2 hour presentation on “Conformation, the Relationship of Form to Function” on Tuesday Aug. 9, 2005 at the National Western Complex from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
Dr. Beeman is known internationally as an expert on equine health and conformation. He has been inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame, the International Stockman’s Hall of Fame, and the American Farrier’s Association International Horseman’s Hall of Fame. Dr. Beeman is a fourth generation Coloradan who has ridden with the Arapahoe Hunt Club since he was a youngster as well as riding with the Round Up Riders of the Rockies for 42 years. He has also managed the health and rehabilitation of Gold Medalist Jumper, Calypso, during and leading up to the 1984 Los Angels Olympics.
Dr. Beeman began practicing veterinary medicine in 1957 at Littleton Veterinary Clinic. Under his tutelage the clinic has grown into the nationally and internationally recognized Littleton Large Animal Clinic, Equine Hospital and Referral Center. We are extremely proud to be able to bring Dr. Beeman to the Vaulting National Championships in Denver to present this program. Brush up on your equestrian knowledge for the upcoming Horse Bowl at Nationals. This program is open to vaulters, parents, coaches, owners, trainers, judges, friends, and everyone who wants to learn more about horses.
